Evelyn Lozada is putting an end to her 41-day marriage to Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson.
The Basketball Wives star filed for divorce from the NFL player Tuesday, her rep tells the Associated Press (via The New York Times). Her filing comes just a few days after Johnson was arrested and charged with a domestic violence misdemeanor. (The former Dancing With the Stars contestant allegedly head-butted Lozada during an argument Saturday evening.)

"It is with great sadness and much trepidation that I release this statement addressing the domestic violence incident that happened this past Saturday. I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me," Lozada told Us Weekly in a Tuesday statement. "It is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles. Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well. I'm grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time."
Following Johnson's arrest, the wide receiver's contract with the Miami Dolphins was promptly terminated, and his reality show with Lozada, Ev & Ocho, cancelled by VH1.
