LeBron James was really excited to meet Kate Middleton and Prince William. The Cleveland Cavaliers baller, who met the royal couple after they attended his team’s game against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday, Dec. 8, gifted the Duke and Duchess with a teeny jersey for their son Prince George.
Not able to wait for the little heir to get his gift, James Instagrammed a Photoshopped snap of the 16-month-old tot wearing the jersey on Wednesday, Dec. 10. “My lil guy Prince George was excited about our win last night as well so he wanted to run around this am. Lol. #Royalty #StriveForGreatness #TheLand,” the NBA player captioned the photo, giving his team a shout-out for their 105 to 101 win over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night.
King James, 29, also showed his enthusiasm over meeting the couple with two other Instagram posts. In one, he smiles from ear to ear while talking with Middleton and William. He captioned the snap: “This very moment will be forever remembered and put up in my house. It’s all good and all smiles on this side. #Royalty #StriveForGreatness #RWTW #LRMR #Klutch.”
On another post, which included a collage of photos from his memorable moment, he wrote: “Wow what an Honor! This game has brought me so much and I’ll never take it for granted! The King, “Duke & Duchess. #Royalty #StriveForGreatness #RWTW #LRMR #Klutch.”
After taking photos with the Duchess, James made headlines for reportedly breaking royal “protocol” after he draped his arm around Middleton.
According to a source close to the royals, however, “no offense was taken at all,” and “there is no such thing as set protocol. It is always suggested that people act in a way that is comfortable to them. [The Duke and Duchess] really enjoyed last night’s game and were delighted to have the opportunity to meet LeBron James.”
