In a shocking interview with Oprah Winfrey (airing Wednesday), One Day at a Time child star Mackenzie Phillips reveals an explosive family secret that she says she's kept hidden for 31 years.
And in this week's Us Weekly, her half sister Chynna Phillips tells her side of the story regarding the as-yet-unrevealed secret. Read what she has to say here!
In a promo for Wednesday's Oprah Winfrey Show, Mackenzie, 49, doesn't hold back as she details her struggles with drugs, saying that her father first introduced her to them.
"My father shot me up for the first time," she says in a promo (see video here).
Mackenzie — who, in 2008, pleaded guilty to one count of felony cocaine possession and agreed to enter an 18-month drug deferment program — goes on to say her father, Mamas and Papas founder John Phillips, was only slightly nervous when he injected her with cocaine, saying it seemed to be the "next logical progression."
"I remember going into my room, I was crouched on the floor. … He put the needle in my arm and put the plunger in and he missed," she says. "He missed the vein and my whole arm went numb."

Phillips — whose new memoir, High on Arrival, hits stores this week — also reveals how Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger tried to seduce her.
"Mick Jagger locks the door and he says, 'I've been waiting for this since you were 10 years old,'" she says in the promo, but does not state how old she was at the time.
