Denise Richards is returning to reality TV — and she’s bringing her daughters with her.
Fresh off filming season 3 of Special Forces, Richards, 53, will star in Denise Richards and the Wild Things alongside her three daughters, Sami, 20, Lola, 19, and Eloise, 13. She shares Sami and Lola with ex-husband Charlie Sheen and adopted Eloise in 2011.
“It’s a big glimpse into our family,” Richards told Us Weekly exclusively at The Hollywood Christmas Parade supporting Marine Toys for Tots. “We’re finishing up everything. I’m excited, but I’m also like, ‘Oh my gosh, everyone’s gonna see my family.’”
She added that fans shouldn’t expect the new series to be similar to Denise Richards: It’s Complicated, which ran from 2008 to 2009 and when her kids were much younger. Even though Eloise wasn’t born yet when the show originally aired, Richards said she was the “easiest one to film” this time around.
“I’m not perfect and they will see I make mistakes,” Richards continued. “Our family is not perfect by any means, but hopefully they can relate to some things that our family goes through too.”
The series will also show Richards’ relationship with her husband, Aaron Phypers, whom she married in 2018. She took time to gush about her marriage and teased that fans will get an intimate look at the pair’s lives together.
“He’s in the show more than I think he thought he was gonna be, but he likes it too,” she said.
“For us, we’re best friends, and I say this to other couples with children — I always say you have to have time for yourself,” Richards added. “Don’t feel guilty. If this ain’t working, it starts at the top and s— rolls down. If [your marriage] stays strong, your family is intact. I always say, have a staycation with your husband or wife. Just keep your connection.”
Though Richards has made multiple forays into reality TV before, she stressed that this project would not have moved forward if her daughters weren’t on board.
“There were conversations with my older daughters, because I wanted to make sure that that was something that they wanted to do, because they didn’t have to be part of it. It was a process, but they were on board,” she said. “And I’m like, ‘Alright, Let’s do it. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.’”
Denise Richards and the Wild Things will air on E! and stream on Peacock when it releases in 2025. The Hollywood Christmas Parade airs Saturday, December 14 at 8 p.m. on The CW Network.
