One last chance to say goodbye! Downton Abbey has more than a few surprises in store for its beloved characters in its Sunday, March 6, series finale, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek.
The clip from the sixth and final season’s last episode includes kisses, bedroom chatter and potential new beginnings.
“Did you ever think we’d get to this day?” one character says in voice-over.
In a different scene, another character exclaims, “I’m ready for this chance — thank God!”
Text on the screen during the promo reads, “The best thing about a great story is seeing how it ends.”
This has been a memorable season for the Emmy-winning drama series. Last week’s episode included Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) marrying Henry Talbot (Matthew Goode) after visiting husband Matthew’s (Dan Stevens) grave, and Edith (Laura Carmichael) calling her sister a “scheming bitch” after the elder Crawley sister ruined her chance at happiness with Herbert Pelham (Harry Hadden-Paton).
Downton Abbey‘s final episode airs on PBS Sunday, March 6, at 9 p.m. EST.
