Katy Perry loves to dress up as a tasty treat! Generally speaking, the American Idol judge is a fan of fun, whimsical outfits, and her ensembles are frequently food-inspired.
Case in point: Perry ditched the chandelier-inspired frock she wore to the 2019 Met Gala in New York City in favor of a getup that was a bit more scrumptious. When it came time to hit the afterparties, the “Roar” singer basically became a human hamburger.
The realistic sartorial choice featured the singer acting as a toothpick in a 3-dimensional costume that consisted of lifelike buns, a meat patty, lettuce, tomato, pickles and cheese. Though Jennifer Lopez was hilariously unmoved by Perry’s outfit during a bathroom run-in, there’s no denying it turned the heads of many other partygoers, including Karlie Kloss and Hailee Steinfeld, who both posted about it on social media.
Prior to her turn as a life-size fast-food staple, the Grammy nominee was partial to dressing up as different fruits. Back in 2008, she wore a pink and green watermelon-inspired outfit for a performance on the Today show, and in 2009, she rocked a white and red strawberry-esque ensemble for an appearance at a music festival in England.
Proving she has a sweet tooth too, Perry has also been known to wear a candy-inspired ensemble on multiple occasions. For example, she sported a peppermint bra and matching skirt during her California Dreams tour in 2012. That getup was also featured in the concert documentary Katy Perry: Part of Me.
