Snacking courtside is an art form. While some stars don’t seem to mind if photographers snap away while they’re feasting on concession treats, others (likely aware that there are cameras on them) pick skillfully at their food.
Leonardo DiCaprio is just one example of a famous face who isn’t fazed by the courtside photogs, or at least he wasn’t bothered by them while he was watching game five of the playoffs between the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets at L.A.’s Staples Center in May 2009. Shutterbugs caught the Wolf of Wall Street actor taking an enormous bite of his meal, but he only had eyes for the game.
For couple Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams, making faces at the photogs is all part of the courtside fun. The pair ate their pizza slices in sync (and made faces at the cameras in the process) as they watched the Los Angeles Lakers go up against the Chicago Bulls at the Staples Center in 2017.
Justin Bieber was similarly unmoved by the presence of photographers at New York City’s Madison Square Garden in February 2011 as he observed the hometown New York Knicks play the Dallas Mavericks. Not only did the Grammy winner mercilessly chomp on a hotdog in front of the media, he did so while sitting next to NHL player Henrik Lundqvist.
Perhaps the “Love Yourself” singer could take a courtside snacking lesson from Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo and her husband, Chris Ivery. The duo managed to share a box of candy in 2009 as they watched the Los Angeles Lakers face off against the Miami Heat. Impressively, neither spectator took their eyes off the game.
