Adapted from the Israeli miniseries of the same name, Euphoria focuses on Rue Bennett (Zendaya), a troubled queer teen as she struggles with substance abuse, relationships, rehab and typical high school drama. The series has explored mental illness, toxic relationships, homosexuality, domestic violence and more.
Along with Rue, the show focuses on Lexi Howard (Maude Apatow), Fez O’Neill (Angus Cloud), Cassie Howard (Sydney Sweeney), Maddy Perez (Alexa Demie), Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi), Jules Caughn (Hunter Schafer), Kat Hernandez (Barbie Ferreira) and Leslie Bennett (Nika King).
Euphoria debuted on HBO in 2019. It was nominated for Outstanding Drama Series at the 2022 Emmy Awards, and Zendaya has earned two Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance on the show.
The series was renewed for a third season in February 2022, but filming was delayed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
