MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — A multiple-vehicle accident in Monongalia County shut down Interstate 68 westbound on Thursday afternoon, the Monongalia County Communications Center confirmed.

The accident was called in just after 1 p.m. near Exit 10.

Communications center officials told 12 News that they did not have an accurate number of vehicles involved in the incident due to on-scene crews reporting the incident with “multiple” vehicles, however, no injuries have been reported at this time.

In a post on its official Facebook page, the Monongalia County Emergency Management Agency asked drivers to avoid the area and said that the roadway would be shut for “an unknown amount of time.” 911 center officials did not have an estimated time the roadway would reopen either.
