PHOENIX (WBOY) — Former Fairmont Senior Polar Bear and West Virginia Mountaineer Jalen Bridges has officially begun his professional basketball career.

Following the second and final round of the 2024 NBA Draft on Tuesday where Bridges was not selected, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that he signed a two-way deal with the Phoenix Suns.

During his time at Fairmont Senior, Bridges won a WVSSAC title and was given the Bill Evans Award in 2019 which goes annually to West Virginia’s top prep basketball player.

Bridges initially started his career with West Virginia during the 2019-20 season as a redshirt, but transferred to Baylor in 2022 where he spent his final two years of eligibility.

During his final collegiate year with the Bears, Bridges averaged 12.2 points in his 35 games and made the 2023-24 All-Big 12 Third Team.
