Whilst the Android 2.3.3 firmware update released on the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY over a month ago, Verizon owners have had to sit tight until now. The firmware update started rolling out over the weekend.
The build number of the firmware is 3.0.1.E.0.88 and changes include a new swipe text input method and an option to finally toggle auto brightness on/off (this is one option we hope will appear for all global Xperia PLAYs). On the negative side, there is still no Facebook integration and no xLoud app. The firmware should be available now over-the-air (OTA).
