Our recent blast at the Ridgeview quarry was a resounding success! We removed a substantial 30,983 m³ of material, thanks to the precision of BME AXXIS electronics. By adhering to strict safety protocols, including the correct use of Scaled Depth of Burial (SDoB), we achieved zero fly rock. Afrimat Mining Services (AMS) is tackling waste rock one blast at a time. Recently conducted our biggest blast to date in the Steelpoort area, blasting approximately 100,000 m³. AMS is strategically targeting waste rock to a parting level, protecting the chrome seam. When charging holes near crests, we strictly adhere to the Safe Operating Procedure (SOP) by mandating sufficient standoff barricades, allowing only certified personnel possessing valid a blasting and ‘Working-on-Heights’ certifications. The Afrimat Mining Services team recently executed another successful blast at our Lyttelton Dolomite Mine in Centurion.
