On February 6, 2025, the Artisan Training Institute (ATI) had the privilege of participating in the CETA Career Day at Valspan High School in Jan Kempdorp. Primary Purpose: The role involves ensuring effective training of learners/artisans in line with the Institute’s standards and ethos, with adherence to material standards. Reports to: Senior Training Officer Key Performance Indicators: 1. Training Learners/Apprentices Conduct learner/artisan inductions before training. Perform trainability and trade test readiness assessments. Facilitate theoretical and practical training for learners. Prepare learners for trade tests and ensure standards are met within deadlines. Provide ongoing feedback to clients and gather feedback on training effectiveness. Conduct final assessments. 2. Administration Compile six-weekly reports for clients. Prepare and maintain assessment reports. Distribute reports (two copies for clients, one for records). Participate in disciplinary inquiries when required. Internal stores requisitions. 3. Consulting Deployment Provide consulting services as authorized by the Operations Manager. Generate required reports and feedback. Ensure travel documentation and arrangements comply with the travel policy. 4. General Assist with general maintenance on-site. Accept OHS appointments as required. Ensure health and safety standards are upheld in the area. Requirements: 1. Qualifications: Recognised Trade Qualification. Assessors qualification is an advantage. 2. Minimum Experience: 5 – 8 years relevant experience. Fitting, Turning, and Machining experience is beneficial. 3. Behavioural Skills: Patience and ability to identify learner strengths and weaknesses. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work well within a team. We are Hiring ETDP - Boilermaker / Welder Primary Purpose: To ensure that learners / artisans are effectively trained in line with the ethos of the Institute, and that they adhere to the material standards. Key Performance Indicators: Training Learners / Apprentices • Induct all learners / artisans prior to training. • Conduct trainability assessments where required. • Conduct trade test readiness assessments. • Facilitate theoretical and practical training for learners. • Prepare learners for trade tests ensuring that standards are met within specified time frames. • Provide ongoing feedback to customers and secure feedback from customers on the training and its needs. • Conduct final assessments. Administration • Compile six weekly report for the clients. • Compile final 12/15-week reports. • Compile assessment reports. • Prepare two hard copies for distribution to clients and one for record keeping of all reports. • Participate in disciplinary enquires as and when required. • Internal stores requisition. • Ensure that assessors registrations are up to date with all SETA’s. 3. Consulting Deployment • Provide consulting services to the consulting divisions as may be authorized by the Operations Manager. • Generate reports and provide feedback as required. • Ensure that all travel documentation is valid, and arrangement are as per the travel policy. General • Assist with general maintenance on-site. • Assist with private work as and when required. • Acceptance of OHS appointments as required. • Ensure health and safety in area. Requirements Minimum qualification required for this position: • Recognised trade qualification for the position. Minimum experience required for this position: • 5 – 8 years’ relevant experience. We are hiring! ✨ ✨ KPI's - Journals - Record and review journal entries in accordance with IFRS. - Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and properly classified. - Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly. - Support the annual financial statement process. TAX - Support full tax function - Income tax calculations and returns for the company. - Check PAYE calculations and returns for payroll. - Provisional tax calculations and returns for the company. - VAT calculations and returns. - Competent to attend to all SARS correspondence. - Filing of notices of objections and suspension of debt on e-filing. ADHOC - Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts. - Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analyses on income and expenses vs forecast, budget and prior year. - Support the month-end and year-end close processes. - Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, transaction reports and explanations. - Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures. - Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices. - Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support. - Assist with special projects and ad-hoc analyses as required. MIN REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION - Bachelor's degree accounting finance or related. - Affiliations to SAICA, SAIPA, ACCA, CIMA, and SAIBA are preferred. MIN EXPERIENCE FOR POSITION - At least 5 - 7 years’ experience of accounting up to trail balance, with sound technical tax knowledge. - Prior experience on Standard Bank Business Online preferable. - Experience with Pastel Accounting, Xero Accounting and E-filing and accounting up to trail balance is not negotiable. - Own reliable transport. BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS: - Willingness to learn. - Ability to think critically. - Interpersonal Skills – Good Communication and Presentation Skills. - Teamwork TECHNICAL SKILLS: - Computer literacy – Pastel Accounting, MS Office, Intermediate Excel, Xero accounting.
