This Sunday is #WorldNatureConservationDay, a day dedicated to highlighting the vital importance of preserving our natural resources and protecting the environment for future generations. Join us in celebrating this day by spreading awareness and committing to a more sustainable future!
The team got creative for a great cause yesterday for #MandelaDay 🙌
Incredible effort by Ladles of Love for #MandelaDay 👏 👏 This amazing organisation, once again, played out their boots and created a seamless and fun volunteer event. Volunteers could buy a ticket for R200 and spend 67 minutes making, creating, crafting or packing items to help children in need. And your one volunteer ticket provides a child with 40 healthy meals. The Conservio team took to the toy-crafting station where our skill did not quite match our enthusiasm, but we had a lot of fun along the way... and our toys were also pretty great! It was amazing to join in on this initiative and experience such a vibrant atmosphere - all in honour of a true icon, Nelson Mandela. “Our children are the rock on which our future will be built, our greatest asset as a nation. They will be the leaders of our country, the creators of our national wealth, those who care for and protect our people.” - Nelson Mandela Nice work Tayla, Jean-Luc & Lizahn #MandelaDay #LadlesOfLove
This Sunday, June 16th, marks World Sea Turtle Day – a day dedicated to celebrating and emphasising the significance of these remarkable marine creatures. With their unique beauty and enduring strength, sea turtles exemplify resilience as they have been nesting on beaches for millions of years. It's only fitting to recognise their magnificence with a day dedicated solely to them!
Tomorrow, June 1, we celebrate World Reef Awareness Day, highlighting the delicate ecosystems of our ocean's coral reefs. It fosters awareness across diverse business sectors and among the broader public about the vulnerability of these vital biological systems. This occasion brings together individuals from various backgrounds, including environmentalists and social activists, to brainstorm innovative strategies for safeguarding reef ecosystems from degradation.

Last week was a special moment: saw a wolf for the first time in The Netherlands! The apex predator has only been back since 2016, and currently, 30 - 40 individuals reside in the country. The wolf's return has been one of the hottest debates in The Netherlands. From an ecological perspective, its return is a blessing. Wolves help control the population of prey animals, such as deer and wild boars, preventing overgrazing and promoting biodiversity. Wolves primarily hunt weak and sick animals, resulting in healthier wildlife populations and better-balanced ecosystems. On the flip side, there are concerns about the safety of livestock and pets. Farmers worry about attacks on their animals, and some have occurred. Protective measures for livestock are feasible but not always implemented correctly. Prejudice about wolves makes people scared of them, although no attacks on humans have ever been recorded in Europe. From my perspective, the return of this animal to The Netherlands is incredible. Since the debate is so heated, it might feel like you see wolves everywhere. But seeing one in the wild is very difficult, as they are rare and elusive. I was super lucky to see this individual, with my buddy Alejandro Vargas Navarro Hope more people get as excited by the wolf's return as we are, it’s a magical experience that we can see them in the wild in our small country.
