Are you passionate about education for children during times of crisis? This #GivingTuesday is your opportunity to break the disruption that a crisis causes by giving the gift of education. Your donation to CRN will go toward our goal of reaching $50,000 for our education projects in locations like Mozambique, Rhino Refugee Camp, and Gaza - to children like Agnes and Michael. Invite your friends to join you in donating, or share the stories of renewed hope when children like Agnes, whom we shared about last week, received the news that her school fees were paid for.

Where there are children, there is laughter and life! But a crisis has the ability to silence this. Crisis isolates them, takes them out of the orbit of normal, and robs them of the opportunity to study and dream of a future. Nine year old Agnes lives in Rhino Refugee Camp, Uganda. Behind her bright eyes is a heartbreaking reality that she and her brother, Michael, have been living as refugees for as long as she can remember. They have little resources to provide for school fees because every bit of income is used for basic food staples. When one has to choose between eating to survive, or paying school fees, then there really is no choice. But through donations like yours, someone gifted her school fees for 2024 and she could go to school. Agnes is excited to wake up every morning now to get ready for school. She is thriving in Primary School Grade 3 - all because someone just like you made a donation. This GivingTuesday you can reignite the hope of children like Agnes, who are going through a crisis as refugees, by giving them the gift of education for 2025. You can put a smile back on their faces, and let joy replace the silence of crisis. Giving is easy, and it only takes a minute to make a difference that can last a lifetime. Follow the link in bio and choose from one of the payment options available. Would you also invite your friends and family to join you in supporting education for children in crisis by sharing these social media updates, or even asking your peers to match your donation.

Crisis disrupts and robs especially children of their opportunity to learn. We see this reality playing out in Gaza as the war continues. To address this critical need, the Shepherd Society recently started a small educational programme to tutor and provide support to 175 children in kindergarten, elementary and preparatory phases. Their approach is holistic and in addition to teaching certain subjects such as Mathematics and Arabic, other activities include psychosocial and spiritual support and physical activities. The educational programme for children living in and around church shelters in Gaza is also providing employment to a number of staff, including 10 teachers, instructors or assistants. Running the education programme for six months will cost an estimated $45,540. CRN invites you to support this critical initiative to invest in these children living in crisis, to help them grow, develop and reach their full potential; as well as the staff who will also grow and be enriched as they sow into the children’s lives in this way. Won’t you prayerfully consider giving the gift of education to reignite the hopes and dreams of these children. You can donate directly to Shepherd Society or through CRN. PS: This is truly an amazing opportunity, and we know your contribution will help these children to know they are loved.

On 20 November we celebrate the incredible potential of every child around the globe! From the tiniest spark of imagination to the grandest dreams, children are the future — a future filled with hope, possibility, and change. But it’s not just a celebration, it’s a call to action. Let’s unite in ensuring every child has access to quality education, health, safety, and the love they deserve. The world can only thrive when our children thrive. Every child has the right to grow, to be heard, and to be seen. Let’s lift their voices, support their dreams, and stand together for a world where no child is left behind. Especially during a crisis, your support will be the opportunity that ensures they have the possibility of a future. This Universal Children’s Day, let’s commit to creating a brighter tomorrow. Visit our website and make your commitment count. #UniversalChildrensDay #FutureOfTomorrow #EveryChildMatters #HopeForTheFuture

GivingTuesday - an international day of giving - is happening on Tuesday, December 3. This year CRN is working to raise $50,000 to help children living in protracted crises to continue their education and help make their hopes and dreams a reality. In any crisis, children are the innocent victims of the disruption, stress, and loss that accompanies a crisis. Education brings stability and diminishes isolation - vital components of fostering restoration. To all of you who understand the value of education, we would love it if you could join us this year as we give a different kind of gift - educational opportunities to children in crisis situations. In our various projects in Mozambique, Rhino Refugee Camp, Gaza, and Afghanistan, our partners focus on the well being of children. Visit our website to read about the creative ways our partners are making education possible in the most impossible locations. Here's how you can help this GivingTuesday: * Donate to our Education Campaign on December 3 and be a part of giving children in crisis the educational opportunity they deserve. * Spread the word to your friends, family, and coworkers and invite them to make a difference. * Follow us on social media and help be a voice to the voiceless by sharing their stories.

Despair is an expected response to a crisis. Despair, when left unattended, can crush hope. It will rob a person of motivation which will lead to helplessness. Reviving hope in the midst of despair is what makes CRN do what we do.. Because despair is not the absence of hope. How do we do this? By giving agency to our grassroots partners and their communities in crisis, because we know that agency reignites hope, and hope leads to renewed motivation and stirs resilience. Our grassroots partners are feeding the hungry, farming to support families with basic nutrition, managing shops to supply an income, comforting the broken-hearted, providing educational resources to ensure a future for the next generation, diminishing child marriage practices, preventing suicide and changing the course of lives. One person at a time they turn despair into hope by leading these responses in their communities. If this stirs your heart then we want to invite you to take a look at our website at the various projects and donate today. In this way you are part of reviving hope where crises intend to destroy.

Last Friday we hosted a network event for partners and friends – it was great to reconnect with those who have partnered with CRN from the start and to meet new friends. Our Director, Yolande Korkie, shared about the importance of networks and how valuable it is to work together, not only with fellow humanitarians but with local partners who are already on the ground and can make the most significant impact when responding to crisis. We also had loads of fun with Rise Against Hunger Africa and packed 4300 meals in one hour which will feed 18 children for a year – amazing! Thank you to all those who joined us on Friday, and who continue to join hands in caring for humanity. Thank you to Protea Valley Church for your amazing space.
