As part of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children Campaign, Eastern Cape Public Works, Infrastructure, and Human Settlements MEC Siphokazi Lusithi handed over homes to 22 vulnerable families in Kwelerha, Buffalo City Metro. The Kwelerha 54 Project, which provides dignified housing to those in need, marks a significant milestone in the province’s fight against poverty and social inequality. MEC Lusithi highlighted that such initiatives are vital in empowering communities and ensuring the safety and dignity of vulnerable groups.

The Eastern Cape’s Medium-Term Budget, delivered by Finance MEC Mlungisi Mvoko, outlines key priorities for the province, with a strong emphasis on enhancing social services and driving infrastructure development. The budget aims to address critical needs in health, education, and public services while investing in vital infrastructure projects to stimulate economic growth and improve quality of life for residents. This strategic focus is set to foster long-term development and strengthen the province's foundation for future prosperity.

🌍 16 Days of Activism Launches in Maletswai: A Call for United Action Against GBVF 🚨 The 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children campaign was officially launched in Maletswai (formerly Aliwal North) in a powerful event uniting government leaders, community stakeholders, and civil society. 🤝 Acting Premier of the Eastern Cape, Bukiwe Fanta, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the urgent need to tackle Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF). She highlighted the vital role of men in eradicating GBV and called for collective action across all sectors. “Ending violence against women and children is not just a women’s issue—it is a societal issue.
