In the revolution of legacy oil companies, bp United Kingdom just launched their first dedicated electric vehicle charging and convenience hub in Hammersmith. Fuel has been removed from the site and five ultra-fast bp pulse 300kW chargers installed, capable of charging 10 cars simultaneously. A combined food, drink and convenience offer reflects the increase in drivers’ expectations of services they want to access while their car is charging. The majority of International/European regulations for enhancing customer charging experience for electric vehicles has evolved into point-of-sale terminals on charge points which essentially allow direct payment via a bank card instead of a subscription-based system which requires user access cards. In the latest developments on the African continent, EFT Corporation, Rubicon, Visa and Verifone have implemented an open-loop payment system in South Africa which allows electric vehicle drivers to pay with major credit cards at charge points. In the latest developments out of Formula E, the race cars make a mandatory pit stop to receive a 'pit boost' via a 30-second 600 kW ultra-fast charge. Season 11 has a new race car – the quickest accelerating FIA single-seater capable of 0-60mph in just 1.82 seconds. On this 14th of February, celebrated globally as Saint Valentine's Day, a trend in relationships with cars is that nine out of ten electric car owners are committed to sticking with battery-powered models when it comes time to trade in their car. The primary reason? Well, according to the Global EV Drivers survey, lower operating costs topped the list of reasons to select an electric car, with environmental arguments related to climate coming in second.
