#FlashbackFridays: ✊ In a move towards reconciliation and recognition, several streets in Germany have been renamed to honour prominent anti-colonial figures, including the legendary Rudolf Manga-Bell and the remarkable Anna Mugunda. Manga-Bell, a leader of the resistance against German 🇩🇪 colonial rule in Cameroon 🇨🇲, is remembered for his unwavering fight for his people’s rights and his tragic execution by the colonial authorities. Similarly, Anna Mugunda, a fierce anti-colonial activist from Namibia 🇳🇦, dedicated her life to challenging oppression and advocating for freedom. This change marks an important step in Germany's ongoing reflection on its colonial past and the need to elevate the voices of those who fought against it. By naming streets after these trailblazers, Germany acknowledges their courage, sacrifices, and the lasting impact they had on the fight for justice ⚖️. Let's continue to honour and learn from the legacies of these heroes who paved the way for a more equitable world. 🌍 #AntiColonialHeroes #RudolfMangaBell #AnnaMugunda #HistoryInTheMaking #Reconciliation #Germany #AfricaInGermany #Africa #Wedding #Berlin #Decolonisation #AfricanQuarter #AfrikanischeViertel #Namibia #Cameroon
