As we finish this 2024 season with a festive spirit, we would like to give a massive shout out to our farmers for: Your Commitment to Quality: Thank you for your dedication to producing high-quality macadamias, ensuring that consumers are able to enjoy the most versatile and delicious nut on the planet! Ongoing Sustainability Efforts: We acknowledge your sustainable farming practices that protect the environment and promote the long-term health of the land. The macadamia industry in Southern Africa is a global leader in sustainable farming practices and regenerative agriculture. Very few of our growers earn carbon credits – you simply do it because it is the right thing, and that needs to be commended! Being Adaptable: We recognize your ability to adapt to challenges. You faced and conquered exceptional tough economic conditions with rising input costs and a constrained market resulting in below break-even point returns. In conjunction with that, you continuously face and adapt to challenging and ever-changing weather conditions. Community Contribution: Thank you for supporting local economies and creating jobs in rural communities, helping to maintain a thriving agricultural sector. It is not only local communities that benefit, but the entire Southern African economy, as the macadamia industry is a major contributor to bringing in foreign currency that is spent locally. Feeding the World: You play a vital role in ensuring food security by providing a highly nutritious food that are enjoyed by people locally and globally. Resilience and Perseverance: We know it takes hard work, often under tough conditions. Thank you for continuing to farm despite the uncertainties you face. Stewardship of the Land: You are caretakers of the land – a God-given command to all human beings, but practiced only by a few such as yourselves. Thank you for embracing sustainable practices that will make it possible to continue to farm for many future generations to come! We wish you a wonderful, blessed Christmas and look forward to a bright and productive 2025 together! #Christmas2024 #macadamias #macadamianuts #farming #lovemacadamias

Processors and suppliers of quality macadamia nuts.
About us
Green Farms Nut Company (Pty) Ltd (GFNC) was established in 1991, as the first privately owned Macadamia processing factory in South Africa, and is now one of the largest processors of Macadamia kernel world-wide. Our modern Macadamia factories are accredited as FSSC 22 000 processing facilities and the quality standards that we apply satisfy the stringent specifications that our worldwide customers and the industry demand. Each year we carry out upgrades and modifications to our factories to ensure that we keep pace with the increasing size of the macadamia crop, and new technical developments in macadamia processing and food safety. We are customer-focused and have built a strong reputation as a reliable supplier of top quality macadamia nuts. In terms of our services to growers, we offer a very unique business model. We act as a toll processor and marketing agent on behalf of the growers and pay a 100% profit share to our growers should we sell over and above the indicative price, or should there be any additional exchange rate benefit. G&G has provided our farmers with crop security, and this has on average allowed GFNC to pay the highest prices to growers in the South African industry by some margin. GFNC, in contrast to competitors, does not force growers to sign supply agreements who get locked in with no other marketing option. Our growers have tested the market, and remain loyal to us, because we continuously offer the best price and service in the industry. In summary growers supply us because of the following: - We don’t lock them in with supply agreements. They can leave at any time and keep their freedom of choice, this keeps GFNC on their toes, to supply the best possible service and prices. Our growers choose us because we do the best job. - We have a unique business model that gives growers maximum return for their crop through our profit share model. - Our marketing arm, Green & Gold Macadamias, is the most sophisticated marketing agent.

Did you know macadamia oil is celebrated as a premium ingredient in cosmetics, valued for its effectiveness and versatility in promoting skin and hair health? ❇️ Rich in beneficial fatty acids and nutrients, macadamia oil closely matches the natural sebum of our skin and has deep nourishing and hydrating properties. It improves skin elasticity, repairs damage, soothes irritation and helps reduce signs of ageing. ❇️ In haircare products, the oleic and palmitoleic acids in macadamia oil deeply condition and fortify the hair, repairing damage and leaving a silky texture and glossy shine. ❇️ The oil can also be used in products that bleach dark spots, regenerate the skin after excessive UV exposure, and in anti-wrinkle creams and serums. ❇️ It's the perfect match for vegan and health-conscious beauty brands. And thanks to its luxurious qualities, adding macadamia oil to any cosmetic product lends a premium quality to it. Look out for beauty products containing macadamia oil. Or better yet - create your own! #macadamianuts #macadamia #macadamias #macadamiaoil #macadamiamagic #antiageing #antiaging #skinhealth #hairhealth #selfcare #cosmetics #vegan

Did you know macadamias also offer a healthy and versatile option when frying, roasting and grilling? Macadamia oil can be used extensively in culinary applications and is a healthy butter substitute, offering a subtle nutty flavour. The oil is extracted from the kernel before being purified and packaged. The nutrient-packed product is then distributed between the food and cosmetic industries. (See our post next week for more on the remarkable applications of macadamias in beauty products.) Did you know that more than 300 Australians develop diabetes every day? That’s one person every five minutes. Type 2 diabetes, which is largely preventable, accounts for 85-90% of all cases, and is increasing each year. They’re sobering statistics ahead of World Diabetes Day tomorrow (14 November). So, how can nuts help? Diabetes guidelines across the world promote healthy plant-rich dietary patterns, such as the Mediterranean diet and the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet, for managing type 2 diabetes. Nuts are an important food within each of these healthy dietary patterns – and for good reason. Research findings suggest that higher nut consumption may: - Lower the risk of type 2 diabetes - Improve glycaemic control in people with diabetes - Reduce the risk of diabetes complications, such as heart disease - Lower the risk of dying from diabetes. We sum-up the evidence to date on nuts and diabetes in our fact sheet for health professionals. The China International Import Expo 2024 (CIIE) is an important event in the Chinese trade relations calendar, and it has been taking place in Shanghai this week. Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) has one of the largest stands in the Country Pavilion, with each Australian state represented under its own banner. Australian Macadamias Marketing Manager Jacqui Price was in attendance yesterday and caught up with a host of government and industry colleagues, including the Green & Gold Macadamias team representing the Australian macadamia industry at the Trade and Investment Queensland stand. #ciie #austrade #china #AustralianMacadamias #AusMacadamias #Macadamias #MacadamiaIndustry #NutIndustry #MacadamiaNuts #nuts Clare Hamilton-Bate
