As we wrap up our recent competition, Gubhani Exploration reflects on the outcome. Our goal was to provide a platform for a woman-owned business to showcase at the Electra Mining Trade Show. Despite our efforts, we didn't receive any entries. This outcome prompted us to consider the potential reasons behind the lack of participation. Research indicates that women tend to hesitate to apply for opportunities unless they meet all the qualifications, while men often apply when they meet only 60%. The requirement for a 30-second pitch may have deterred participation, among other factors. Nevertheless, our commitment to empowering women in mining remains unwavering. Gubhani Exploration is proud to sponsor a company featured in the WiMBIZ directory booklet, highlighting women-owned/led businesses. Additionally, we are sponsoring the Women in Mining Business | WiMBIZ SA Networking Cocktail event at Electra Mining Africa 2024 on September 3, facilitating connections and opportunities for women.
