Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day industrial relations (IR) issues, including employee grievances, disputes, and disciplinary procedures. Advise management on labor laws, policies, and best practices to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. Facilitate employee relations initiatives, ensuring open communication between management and staff. Conduct investigations into misconduct, poor performance, and workplace disputes, and provide guidance on resolving these matters. Prepare and maintain accurate records for all IR-related matters, including reports and documentation for disciplinary actions and hearings. Assist in negotiations with trade unions and represent the company in conciliation and arbitration proceedings. Work closely with HR to promote a healthy organizational culture and ensure alignment of IR activities with HR policies. Monitor industry trends and stay updated on labor law changes to mitigate risks. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field. Proven experience (3-5 years) in an IR role, preferably within the FMCG or retail sector. Strong knowledge of South African labor laws, including the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and Employment Equity Act. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
