We are proud to present our 2023 Annual Report, 📌𝗪𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀 - 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. The world has lost its trust in "experts". The answer? Redefine what makes "an expert" by turning to the true reservoirs of knowledge—our communities. By committing to listening more intently, engaging more deeply, and acting more decisively, we can build a future where trust is restored and communities are at the heart of every solution. 💰 “Can another donor fill this gap?” "I'm afraid the answer is no." – Harpinder Collacott. Listen to ITPC's specialist panelist on development financing explain how the global public health financing system is broken and what solutions may be within our reach. 🚨 The uncomfortable truth? No single donor is stepping up to fill the void. And the ones who could won't—because global health funding is driven by politics, influence, and short-term optics rather than sustainable impact. Funding gaps aren’t just numbers on a spreadsheet—they translate to lives lost, communities abandoned, and health systems collapsing. So, what now? If the system is failing, waiting for more funding won’t fix it. Global Public Investment (GPI) Global Public Investment Network is an alternative. We need a fundamental shift in how global health and other public goods are financed, governed, and led—by those closest to the crisis, not those furthest from it. 📺 Watch the full discussion 👉 https://lnkd.in/diiCE-dy 💡 What’s one radical change needed in global health financing? "It’s been a deeply turbulent three weeks for foreign aid, with the abrupt dismantling of USAID sending shockwaves through the sector. Funding for lifesaving programs has evaporated overnight, leaving many to wonder whether foundations will step in to fill the void." Read the full article below 👇👇👇 Devex Solange Baptiste Simon

In a world where data is ignored, facts are sidelined, and science is silenced, how do we shift the course of global health policy? During ITPC's "Making Sense of the Madness" webinar, I had the opportunity to ask a pointed question to the esteemed Dr. Linda-Gail Bekker: 💬 Will more data change Trump’s mind? She responded with a powerful reminder from Archbishop Desmond Tutu: “Don't shout louder—change your argument!" This isn't just about recent changes in US government foreign aid. It’s about any leader, institution, or policymaker resistant to change. More data alone won’t move the needle. The way we frame the argument will. So, how do we shift the conversation in a world where data contravenes ideology? 📺 Watch the full discussion 👉https://lnkd.in/dANVUfyA Nadia rafif Othoman Mellouk Krista Lauer Dr Charlene Omrawo #TreatPeopleRight 💡 What’s your take—should we fight louder or argue smarter? And how? Drop your thoughts below. ⬇️

"No local manufacturing plan can succeed without a bold reform of the intellectual property system. Without it, we are merely building on borrowed ground, unable to truly empower local industries to address Africa’s health needs sustainably." - Othoman Mellouk, ITPC's Access to Treatment and Intellectual Property Program Lead, on a panel which discussed "Access to Quality Medicines and Vaccines in Africa" at the Pharma Africa Meeting in Marrakech on February 6th, 2025.
