Today, we come together to raise awareness, honour those affected by HIV and reaffirm our commitment to fighting the epidemic. HIV has touched millions of lives, but with continued education, research, and access to testing and treatment, we have seen the infection rate decline. At Lancet Lab, we believe in prevention, early detection, accurate testing and compassionate care. Let’s continue to spread knowledge and reduce stigma to ensure a healthier, more inclusive future for all. Get tested. Get informed. Myth: I have diabetes, so I can never eat sweets. Fact: Sweets are full of simple sugars, which increase the amount of glucose in your blood more than other foods. But they are not off limits for people with diabetes, as long as you plan for them. It's best to save sweets for special occasions or as a treat. You can eat small amounts of sugar in place of other carbohydrates usually eaten at a meal. If you take insulin your provider may instruct you to take higher doses than normal when you do eat sweets. #LancetLabCares #KeyToDiagnosticExcellence #DiabetesAwareness #ManageBloodSugar

This past Friday, Lancet Laboratories proudly participated in Pink Friday, where our Lanceteers wore pink to stand in unity with those affected by cancer. It was a powerful show of support for patients, survivors and their families, reminding them they are not alone in their journey. Myth: I have borderline diabetes, so I don't need to worry. Fact: Prediabetes is the term used for those whose blood sugar levels are not in the diabetic range but are too high to be called normal. Prediabetes means that you are at high risk for developing diabetes within 10 years. You may be able to lower your blood sugar to normal levels by lowering your body weight and exercising at least 2 hours a week.
