Explore 20 Wines Routes in the Western Cape with Liberty Southern Africa...
These festive holidays we encourage you to explore South Africa's wine regions.
There are 20 wine routes in the Western Cape!
Wine tourism provides a diverse array of experiences for visitors, with many wineries and vineyards open to the public. Some 92% of wineries now boast a Tasting Room and the majority of them are open to the public while a handful are open by appointment only. From adventurous “vin-faris”, where guests explore wine regions by safari-style vehicles, to immersive underground cellar tours that showcase the aging process and history of wine production, there’s something for every interest. These experiences not only offer a chance to taste and appreciate wine but also provide a deeper understanding of the culture, craftsmanship, and landscapes behind the bottles. And our wine routes are about so much more than wine, with something for every age group to enjoy.
Each wine route in the Western Cape offers a unique experience. With 20 distinct wine routes, visitors can explore everything from the historic Stellenbosch Wine Route, the oldest wine route in South Africa, to hidden gems like the Namaqua West Coast Wine Route and Elgin Wine Route.
