To our dear Nicole, we will forever miss you.
In Honour of our friend and colleague Nicole Vadivel Today the Linktank family bids a final farewell to a woman who is(can’t get used to saying was ☹) an integral part of our team, we call her our “no-nonsense feisty one”. Little did we know just how feisty, how strong and how incredibly resilient Nicole was. We knew that she wasn’t well but she was always so on top of her work, always so ready to take on what she needed to – although she often had a better way of doing something and was never shy to tell us. She never spoke with a weak or tired voice, she spoke with authority, practicality and strength and she did not suffer fools or foolishness gladly. We didn’t know just how deeply the physical toll her illnesses was taking on her. She fought silently, separately, only ever sharing her challenges if pushed to. And even then, when she spoke of her illness it was to tell us about all the workarounds she had come up with to cope, to support her getting the work done. And on top of it all she had this uncanny ability to pick up when one of us was feeling down – she had a prayer ready to share, or time for a conversation. Nicole, you inspired us in so many ways whilst we had you working with us and still you inspire us. Ever practical, ever the “just get the job done” always “making that plan, coming up with that workaround”. We missed how tired you were, we missed how much your body was letting you down – we will miss you always. Each and everyone of us today is reminding each other to keep an eye out for a friend or a colleague, say something if you think something is up. Remember in the times when frustration is all you feel, that each of us carries a burden and some days that burden gets too heavy to bear. We also know that Nicole would not want us to dwell in sadness too long. She’d be telling us to get up and get on – she was strong and she knew we all loved her the best we could, each in our own way. Nicole leaves behind her husband Claude and her daughters Sarah and Hadassah. She loved them fiercely just like any Mamma Lion does and we know how proud she was of them because she would tell us all the time. We know that they supported and cared for her with every ounce of love and strength in them – we are grateful to them for all they did for her. She leaves behind a team of colleagues who admired and respected her and will always honour her for her unique contribution to this business and our lives. There’s one more Angel in heaven and you all best be ready.
