Precision Farming with Lodicon’s intelli-Farm System   In collaboration with 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻, Lodicon has recently deployed its cutting-edge 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶-𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿 at a state-of-the-art pump station. The system automatically premixes the water and fertilizer to preset ratios, ensuring the tanks are filled and ready before the first irrigation cycle of the day.   The pump station controls 𝟵 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀, each with 𝟲 𝗱𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 and 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀. The injectors precisely dose the diluted fertilizer mix based on flow data from an AI-powered agricultural platform Agriwiz, which optimises the dosing parameters for 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲, 𝘀𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲, 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, and 𝘀𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝗺𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲. We are excited to share the incredible journey of Lodicon's work in the energy sector on a large-scale AVEVA System Platform Application Server SCADA environment! Our primary deliverable was to enhance the existing functionality while seamlessly integrating additional features. The system architecture was meticulously designed to support a multi-site environment, with each site running its own application server for local data collection. The data is then pushed up to the central application server, responsible for dashboarding, alarming, trending, and historisation processes. With approximately 28 remote application servers communicating with a single redundant application server, the infrastructure is quite extensive yet robust and reliable. To facilitate seamless data transition between servers, multiple OPC instances are used. This enables near-real-time representation of the entire monitoring environment. Situational awareness was a key focus in dashboard design, ensuring that crucial data is interpreted and acted on within a timely fashion. Furthermore, all development processes were optimised and managed through an SQL database, ensuring efficient data clustering, processing, manipulation, and calculations. This successful collaboration showcases Lodicon's expertise in implementing large-scale solutions. Petroleum Storage Depot Virtualisation Success   At Lodicon, we're thrilled to share the successful virtualisation of GE Digital’s SCADA and Historian platforms for a petroleum storage depot. Our focus on high reliability and data availability has yielded remarkable results for the end-user.   The system architecture features redundant server hardware hosting various virtual machines. Redundancy is ensured with a GE Digital Cimplicity HMI/SCADA application server pair. This setup enables seamless change-over in case of any hardware or software failure, eliminating the need for user intervention. Exciting update!   Lodicon recently collaborated with a prominent global solutions and logistics provider to develop a tailored Warehouse Control System (WCS). This system seamlessly integrated a sorter into the client's existing operations, enhancing efficiency and productivity. The WCS, which interfaced with the client's Warehouse Management System’s (WMS) API, managed data handling, chute order management, and bulk induction into the sorter. Additionally, it ensured full data continuity by feeding back sorted product statuses into the WMS.   Our solution featured Inductive Automation’s Ignition SCADA software for WMS integration and provided interfaces for induction stations, chute statuses, error handling, and process control. A Siemens PLC facilitated integration with the sorter's control system, managing bulk stock SKU induction, sorting statuses received, and controlling peripheral conveyors. All processes were optimised and managed through an SQL database for efficient order clustering, data processing, as well as order and SKU assignment to available chutes.   As a second phase of the project, the client opted to enhance their in-house picking process by leveraging the unique functionality of the Ignition SCADA suite. We successfully implemented a custom picking interface, utilising a SCADA view hosted on a wearable mobile scanner with its own barcode scanner. This innovation significantly increased operator efficiency by reducing packing steps and minimising errors.   This successful collaboration demonstrates our commitment to delivering high-quality, durable custom solutions tailored to the specific needs of the warehousing and distribution industry.
