Driving innovation in South Africa's logistics network 🚛📊 The National Logistics Crisis Committee (NLCC) is making significant strides toward its vision of a virtual Central Coordination Centre (CCC) that will enhance logistics oversight in South Africa's ports and on the country’s key corridors. By leveraging the Logistics Monitoring System (LMS) platform, the aim is, to provide near real-time alerts from the CCC when significant disruptions or trends arise. The alerts, which flag major congestion or notable changes in key metrics, are sent to the almost 2 000 subscribers of the weekly Pulse Report which, among other things, offers crucial information about eight of the country’s major transport corridors. This marks the first step in creating a centralised, responsive support system for control centres nationwide. The alerts help improve corridor visibility so that obstructions can be quickly identified and addressed, thereby enhancing safety, managing impact and risk, and enabling a more efficient flow through the supply chain.
