This past weekend, our centre, Southgate Mall, proudly managed by Mowana Properties, had the honour of being a sponsor of the inspiring Soweto Marathon. Known as the "Melting Pot of the South," Southgate Mall played a pivotal role in supporting this iconic event that brought communities together through resilience, unity, and determination. We are thrilled to announce that our Learnership Graduation Day was a resounding success! On 17th October 2024, we celebrated the achievements of our learners at Pareto Limited and Mowana Properties, who have committed themselves to personal and professional growth over the past 24 months. The event was filled with inspiring speeches, heartfelt testimonials, and moments of joy as we recognised each learner’s hard work and dedication. It was an honour to welcome esteemed guests, including King Mthimkulu of the Hlubi Kingdom, alongside family, friends, and colleagues, who all came together to support our graduates on this significant milestone. We extend our warmest congratulations to all the graduates and express our sincere gratitude to our training partners, Camblish Training Institute, as well as the mentors and everyone who contributed to the success of this programme. A special thank you goes to Sonti Lurayi, Organisational Development Manager, and Zama Pharu, Learning & Development Manager, for their invaluable leadership and support throughout the journey. Introducing Dale James, a learner at Mowana Properties Before joining Mowana, Dale gained diverse experience working as a Recruitment Consultant at Gijima and a Tester at Standard Bank, where he focused on their short-term insurance application. His time at Mowana has been both rewarding and transformative. Dale has had the opportunity to work on offers, LAM leases, and deposit calculations, while collaborating with industry professionals. He has successfully adapted to the fast-paced environment, overcoming challenges such as self-doubt. Highlights of his journey include facilitating property transactions and providing exceptional client service. Through this learnership, Dale has developed essential skills in leasing and client relationships, along with strong communication, problem-solving, and time management abilities. These skills have significantly boosted his confidence and prepared him for a successful career in real estate. Meet Khumoetsile Tshikane Khumoetsile Tshikane is currently part of the Mowana Properties Learnership Programme, where she is gaining valuable hands-on experience. With a background in business economics from high school and additional learning in agriculture, media, and arts, Khumoetsile is embracing the opportunity to expand her skills in the property industry. At Mowana, Khumoetsile is learning how to complete lease forms, negotiate with tenants, and navigate various aspects of the business with the guidance of dedicated mentors. The positive work environment allows Khumoetsile to grow both personally and professionally, laying the foundation for a successful career. She is grateful for this opportunity, and Khumoetsile is determined to make the most of it, connect with industry professionals, and push beyond their limits.

Meet Caleb Redgard: Real Estate Learner at Mowana Properties Caleb Redgard is a dedicated learner at Mowana Properties, making the most of the real estate learnership programme. Before joining Mowana, Caleb faced challenging times, uncertain about his future and unsure of the next steps. However, the learnership opened doors, allowing him to chart a clear path forward. Since starting at Mowana, Caleb has gained valuable insights into the real estate industry, particularly in understanding the buying and selling processes and the maintenance involved. His initial days at Mowana were about adjusting to the office environment, getting to know his colleagues, and comparing the practical work with his studies. While his education focused more on selling homes, his experience at Mowana has broadened his knowledge to include letting out office spaces and larger properties. Caleb’s interest in property management has grown significantly, and he is eager to dive deeper into this field. His exposure to key aspects of leasing, such as Landlord Approval Mandates (LAM), leases, the Government Employees Provident Fund (GEPF), addendums, and FICA requirements, has equipped him with a strong foundation. He has learned the importance of building client relationships and the detailed work involved in managing leases. Caleb is determined to become one of the best property managers in the industry. His ambition doesn’t stop there; he dreams of owning shopping malls where he can establish his own restaurants, blending his passion for property with entrepreneurship.
