Our farming project in Rustenburg South Africa is a notable success. The project, an Agri-Farming Learnership sponsored by New Concept Mining powered by Epiroc, has been introduced to provide practical agricultural skills to local young persons with a passion for farming. For our 2024 learners, who will be completing their learnership soon, they have seen their first abundant summer harvest. Yielding watermelons, maize, butternut and tomatoes, this project has shown these learners how the land can provide their community with food. #Rustenburg #Mining

New Concept Mining powered by Epiroc has always striven to have an excellent internship programme. We have had multiple success stories, especially with our Research and Development team. Meet Lunghelo Maluleke, who joined NCM as one of our interns through the YES4Youth programme in 2024. "I have always had a passion for mining and have always been fascinated with how machines work, so being able to intern with New Concept Mining was amazing." A soon to be Mechanical Engineering graduate, Lunghelo found a niche that would feed both his passions. Towards the end of 2024, Lunghelo was tasked with a project to optimise the Torque Tester in one of our factories. The project was about redesigning the mechanical aspect of the machine, the components, and how they are assembled together. "I started the project from an academic standpoint, but the team I worked with stepped in to mentor me. The engineers, the quality team, the maintenance team...everyone stepped in to help me get a distinction on the project." Graduating in a few months, working with New Concept Mining has further deepened his passion for mining. "It's my dream one day to go underground and work with the products we manufacture here at NCM."

The MP1 Bolt is an end anchored, yielding bolt for mechanised installations. To aid mechanized installation, the end anchor is shielded by a steel sleeve and is only activated once the MP1 Bolt is fully inserted into the support hole. #groundsupportequipment #rockbolt #mining
