The Nexus S136 single cartridge seal is our "Me-Too" slurry seal. Most mechanical seal suppliers need a single cartridge seal that is not just a standard cartridge seal design for process pumps. This type of seal has some features that allows for use in slurry pumps. This design has heavy duty profiled faces to reduce the slurry build-up on the OD of the faces. It has large clearances between stationary and rotary parts, to prevent hang-up due to slurry on atmospheric side. It is a stationary design seal with Monolithic faces (not the stupid inserted faces that some manufacturers still use - the world has moved on from inserted faces). The sleeve is made with nice thick material, it is a slurry seal after all.
