In the past few decades, breakthroughs in Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) research and treatments have transformed patient care, allowing people to enjoy longer, fuller lives despite their diagnosis. CML is a cancer caused by a genetic mutation. This mutation results from the formation of an abnormal chromosome 'Philadelphia chromosome' within the bone marrow, leading to the overproduction of faulty or abnormal white blood cells.
