Peregrine Capital is South Africa's longest-running hedge fund manager. We currently manage over R15 Billion of investor assets through our two local flagship hedge funds which are open to institutional and retail clients and can be accessed through all major LISP platforms. We offer a long-only offshore equity fund which launched in 2019. Our Peregrine Capital High Growth H4 QI Hedge Fund is the first fund in South Africa to achieve 100X an investor’s initial investment – R1 million invested in the fund in February 2000 is now worth more than R100 million today. Our Peregrine Capital Pure Hedge H4 QI Hedge Fund has not had a negative year since its inception in July 1998*. Our interests are fully aligned with those of our clients. We have invested our own wealth in our funds as we believe they are the best long-term investments we can own. Our highly qualified investment professionals delivers superior, consistent, risk-adjusted returns. Our tried and tested Investment Philosophy has remained consistent. Peregrine Capital | Fund Returns | January 2025 The JSE broke its three-month losing streak in January, with the All Share Index returning +2.3% and the Capped SWIX up 2.6%. Global equity markets similarly had strong performance, with the S&P 500 and MSCI All Country World Indices up 2.8% and 3.4% respectively. The Peregrine Capital Pure Hedge and High Growth Funds’ solid returns were fuelled by materials and communication services holdings, with local and global equity Index short positions as detractors to the funds’ performance. 2025 promises to be a year where active management and careful stock selection are rewarded.
