Our 2023 Sappi Annual Report and 2023 & 2024 Corporate Calendars have won Gold for print excellence at the prestigious GAPP Awards, and we’re thrilled! 🏆✨ The accolades were well deserved by our incredible print partners, Law Print(annual report) and Pro Print (calendars), for their outstanding craftsmanship and dedication to quality. This achievement underscores our commitment to partnership and excellence in print. Incoming VP Sales and Marketing for Sappi SA Gareth Cloete met up with the founder at Law Print, Lesley Watson for a proud pic, and the team at Pro Print in Durban was pleased to show off the award, along with the 2025 calendar, which is of similar standout quality as the previous two! Says Gareth: “This achievement is due to the strong collaboration with our industry partners, and reaffirms our collective commitment to setting the highest standards for quality and creativity in print. Additionally, it stands as a testament to the superior quality of our graphic paper, which played a crucial role in achieving such exceptional print quality.” #Sappi #GAPPAwards #PrintExcellence #Craftmanship

What role will the pulp and paper industry play in the future of our world? A pivotal one. By driving innovation across the value chain, the industry is helping transition away from fossil-fuel-based products like single-use plastics and is playing a key role in the decarbonisation of industrial processes. ABB’s new industry paper: Innovating for tomorrow: How the pulp and paper industry is turning the page for a sustainable future is the first in a three-part series and highlights the innovations within the pulp and paper industry that are advancing sustainability. The paper highlights Sappi’s commitment to sustainability and we are honored to be featured in this paper, with Tracy Wessels, Group Head of Sustainability and Investor Relations at Sappi sharing key insights and reaffirming our company's commitment to sustainable practices. With strong leadership and investment in innovation, the pulp and paper industry will help lead the way toward a sustainable, low-carbon future. COP29 is a good moment to take stock of past progress and assess future opportunities. That's why the publication of WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development's Business Breakthrough Barometercomes at an opportune moment. It clearly demonstrates industry ambition to co-create positive sustainable change with governments; nevertheless, 90% of those surveyed say they'd invest more if governments implemented policies to address sector-specific barriers. Sappi strongly supports the findings of this report. Compared to our 2019 baseline, Sappi's absolute GHG emissions have decreased over 30% across the past 5 years through increased use of renewable energy, more efficient electricity self-generation & efficient energy management. Our climate action also relies on value chain collaboration & intense forestry research to mitigate climate change effects. But we recognise more could be done to deliver a just transition that leaves no one behind. That's why we'd love to work closer with policymakers to ensure that the investment case and infrastructure development continue to support and accelerate businesses' large-scale investments.

Our North American business delivered a solid performance within the context of a slower than anticipated recovery in paper markets following the destocking cycle of 2023📊. The conversion and expansion of Somerset PM2 to paperboard progressed well during the quarter and is on schedule for start-up in April 2025. This strategic investment is integral to the Thrive Strategy to reduce exposure to declining graphic paper markets and increase capacity in growing packaging markets. 📢 Our North American CEO, Michael Haws, shares his plans for the business in 2025. #SappiFinancialResults

This week we announced a record financial quarter for Sappi Southern Africa. Through perseverance, we managed to achieve Adjusted EBITDA of ZAR2,033 million. The success was largely driven by variable cost savings and favourable selling prices for dissolving pulp. Our outlook for 2025 is optimistic with the long-term favourable outlook for our sustainably produced packaging and speciality paper products remaining unchanged, and demand from our customers in South Africa is healthy. 🔊 Sound on to hear more from our Sappi Southern Africa CEO, Alexander Thiel. #SappiFinancialResults

We are pleased to share that Sappi has delivered a robust set of results for Q4 and the full financial year 2024, surpassing expectations. We achieved Adjusted EBITDA of US$684 million for the full year, and our fourth quarter Adjusted EBITDA exceeded the previous year by approximately 35%.
