SevenC recently held its long-service awards. MD Graeme Millar reflects on the growth of the company over the past three decades.
It’s said that we overestimate what we can do in a year; while greatly underestimating what can be done in 5 years… This week I’m reflecting on #SevenC’s remarkable journey since its inception in 1998, close on three decades in business. We started with just four people working out of a garage (yes, the proverbial IT start-up story – watch the video to hear more about it https://lnkd.in/dFRMzCuY) Today? Today, we operate with two subsidiaries, 75 staff and close on 800 clients with a footprint across key #Africa countries. All of this has been made possible by the incredible people who have been with us on this journey. Recently, we celebrated long service awards for team members hitting key milestones of 5, 10, and 15 years. These moments are a powerful reminder of the dedication, loyalty, and teamwork that have shaped our success. Congratulations and thank you to Kerry Perrins – 15 Years, Gavin Strydom – 10 Years, and Dikeledi Mojapelo, Robyn Kotschy, Johan Tromp, Percy Molape, Malebo Kekana – 5 Years. Personally, receiving my 15-year service award brought back memories of when I first joined SevenC. It’s been an exciting and rewarding ride since then, navigating the ever-changing landscape of #IT services, growing a business in a crowded space, working with good friends and developing a team of people committed to our client experience. Speaking of change, the #ManagedIT services industry has evolved significantly over the years. Here are the top three shifts as I see them: #Cloud Migration: The shift to cloud-based services has been transformative, offering businesses scalability and flexibility like never before. #Cybersecurity: As threats grow more sophisticated, strengthening security frameworks has become essential to protecting client data and maintaining trust. Automation & AI: Leveraging #AI and automation to streamline operations and enhance service delivery is revolutionising how we manage IT infrastructure. I’m excited for the possibilities in 2025 as we continue to adapt, ensuring we’re delivering the best solutions to our people and our clients. Darren Osbourn

Read SevenC MD Graeme Millar's latest insight on how to spot #phishing. Awareness, with understanding what to look out for is so important! When in doubt, don't click the link and call us for advice and assistance.
#Phishing! Top 5 Red Flags As the holiday season approaches, vigilance about #cybersecurity threats, especially phishing, is crucial - in our businesses and personally. Phishing attacks can lead to significant financial losses and data breaches. Here are the top five red flags that should alert you to potential phishing activities in your day-to-day business operations: Suspicious email addresses: Always scrutinise the sender’s email address. Phishing emails often come from addresses that look legitimate but contain slight misspellings or unusual characters. For example, an email from “support@paypa1.com” instead of "support@paypal.com". Urgent or threatening language: Phishing emails often create a sense of urgency or fear, urging recipients to act quickly to avoid negative consequences. Be wary of emails that pressure you to provide personal information or click on links immediately. Unexpected attachments or links: Be cautious of emails with unexpected attachments or links. Hover over links to see the actual URL before clicking, and avoid downloading attachments from unknown sources. Generic greetings: Phishing emails often use generic greetings like “Dear Customer” instead of your name. This can be a sign that the sender does not actually know you and that it is part of a phishing scam. Spelling and grammar errors: Many phishing emails contain spelling and grammatical errors. Legitimate companies usually have professional communication standards, so errors can be a red flag. Phishing is a pervasive, persistent threat. It’s essential to ensure your employees are well-trained to recognise and respond to phishing attempts. For more insight read our article here https://lnkd.in/dhbEt-HR Consider scheduling a cybersecurity training session before the holiday rush. This proactive step can help protect your business and your employees from potential cyber threats and keep your operations running smoothly - not to mention a happy, peaceful #holiday season.
