SANBS is a non-profit organisation which provides an essential service within South Africa and is rated amongst the best in the world in the provision of blood and blood products, as well as in relation to the research and training provided. SANBS operates across all of South Africa, with the exclusion of the Western Cape. SANBS is further regarded as a major role player in the provision of support to countries in the SADC region. Research is an integral part of SANBS core business and underpins the excellence for which SANBS strives. Our key purpose is to save patients’ lives. Vision: To be the cornerstone of healthcare services in South Africa, through the gift of life. Mission: The mission of the South African National Blood Service is to provide trusted blood products and services to all patients at a world class level of cost and quality while innovating new treatments to enhance human healthcare.

In an effort to improve our donor center collections, our Limpopo team came up with an exciting competition, the Donor Centre Staff Challenge, held on 03, 04, 11, and 13 December 2024. The Target: 205 Presented: 408 Collected: 330 Deferrals: 70 A huge thank you and well done to all competitors in the challenge, with winners walking away with festive hampers! 03 December 2024 🏆 Sr. Modjadji Motupa, Supervisor from the Tzaneen Centre, brought in 13 donors. 04 December 2024 🏆 Dakalo Mphilo, Enrolled Nurse from Makhado Donor Centre, brought in 45 donors. 11 December 2024 🏆 Martin Khulushi, Blood Bank Supervisor from Wilme Albert Polokwane, brought in 45 donors. 13 December 2024 🏆 Timothy Mayimela, Blood Bank Supervisor, brought in 82 donors. Mokopane collected 98 units of blood yesterday, making them number 2 in the Limpopo Staff Challenge. Timothy recruited more than 80 donors, making him the highest across the 4 DCs! #PumpUpThePulse

This is the season of giving, and the Teksa branch is proud to honour RE/MAX Homefinders Secunda with a special gift that recognises their unwavering dedication and exceptional community service. RE/MAX Homefinders has been awarded the Teksa Blood Drive of the Year trophy for their outstanding contribution to blood donation efforts. Throughout the year, it successfully collected 407 units of blood, a remarkable achievement for a small community like Secunda. This blood has the potential to save up to 1,221 lives. Even more impressive is that 51% of the donors at RE/MAX Homefinders were new or returning donors—further highlighting their commitment to this vital cause. We proudly honor their service and dedication to our community. It's a proud moment for SANBS to acknowledge the incredible work done by RE/MAX Homefinders Secunda. They are truly #TrustedToSaveLives.
