Strategist with a passion for identifying ‘nuggets’ of potential and turning them into organisational successes

In my career, I’ve seen Tidy Files from multiple perspectives—first as a consultant and then as operations director, and later as an executive at Caxton and CTP Printers. With a deep understanding of Tidy Files' potential and team, I recognized its value for CTP. As of August 1, 2024, Tidy Files officially became part of CTP Stationery, marking an exciting new chapter!

If you agree with the old proverb 'It takes a village to raise a child', you may also have to acknowledge that the task would have been much easier when we all lived in actual villages. Raising children collectively has become more challenging as we move from villages to cities, townships, suburbs and cyberspace. What has remained unchanged as part of their journey to becoming whole human beings, is that children from all walks of life have always needed love, laughter, a nurturing environment, understanding - and most importantly, someone to believe in them. The wonderful project we're announcing in this post started in October 2023 with a donation of Signs of Positivity's set of 100 signs to Rondebult Primary School in Germiston, South Africa. The signs were donated by Spark Media SA and the Germiston City News Caxton, a local Caxton CTP newspaper. These two organisations together with the Boksburg Advertister, extended their support of the school by donating a converted shipping container to Signs of Positivity, fitted shelves and desks into it for it be used as a library. They earmarked the container library for Rondebult Primary who welcomed the donation because, out of necessity, they had to convert their own library into a classroom many years ago and there is no community library in the area. Signs of Positivity then called on a few organisations to ask for help to ensure the library would be well-finished and appealing to the children. We received quick positive responses... - Intamarket Graphics, a division of Intamarket Group, donated self adhesive vinyl for the production of the artwork. They also donated rolls of TouchShield antibacterial vinyl for the covering of books. - Graphic Solutions donated robust Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) sheets for the external signage and the internal cladding of the container. - Whack Art and Design created the mock ups, digitised the illustrations, produced the vinyl decals, managed and supervised the cladding, respraying and branding of the container. They also recorded each step of the process and produced the video you see in this post. - Vantage Digital provided large format printing and cutting services to produce the rigid ACM external signage. - Wonderflooring donated durable carpet tiles. - MG Auto Paint donated high quality paint to brighten the container. - Chartzon Projects provided their time, labour and expertise to clad the interior and respray the exterior of the container. They also installed the signage and fitted the carpet tiles. - Thami Xala Foundation, an active non-profit organisation based in the community first introduced us to the school and has pledged to be our liaison for the ongoing upkeep of the library. Each of these organisations provided their products and services wholeheartedly knowing how being able to read will increase each child's potential to succeed. Please see more acknowledgements in the comments below.
