iNtsika yeThemba Session 22 🏃🏾💨 This weekend, our iNtsika Heroes joined the World AIDS Day Fun Run hosted by Nyanga Men Empowerment and Nyanga Healthy-Lifestyle Club. Alongside raising awareness about HIV/AIDS, the boys learned about the importance of knowing their status, where to get tested, and ways to prevent infection. The day continued with a powerful reflection session, where the boys looked back on their journey this year, shared the lessons they’ve learned, and celebrated how far they’ve come. They also wrote down positive qualities about each other, enjoyed a braai for lunch, and ended the session with choir practice and quality time together. We are incredibly proud of our Heroes and their growth this year. Now, we look forward to celebrating them at their Graduation Concert tomorrow! 🎓 💙 The iNtsika yeThemba program aims to end Gender-Based Violence by equipping a generation of positive role models, who challenge toxic masculinity, and promote equal rights for all. If you want to donate or get involved, send us a DM. #JusticeDeskAfrica #iNtsikaYeThemba #YouthEmpowerment #ANCP This program is supported by the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) and Edmund Rice Foundation (Australia). Justice Desk Africa reposted this
As 2024 winds down, ASANDA MABUYA and I have just completed our final supervision session for the year, and I can’t help but reflect on what a fruitful and rewarding journey it has been. Supervision has been a space of growth, learning, and reflection this year —helping me navigate challenges, celebrate wins, and refine my professional practice. Each session has provided valuable insights, not only into my work but also into myself, pushing me to continuously improve and stay aligned with my purpose as a social worker. I’m immensely grateful to my supervisor, Mr. van Kratenburg for his sharing his wealth of experience (almost 40 years of it!), guidance, encouragement, and wisdom. His support has been instrumental in shaping my approach and deepening my understanding of how I can better approach my work. Here’s to carrying these lessons forward into 2025 with renewed energy and intention.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our ‘Faces Over Facts’ panel discussion on ‘Educating Boys to End Gender-Based Violence’ 🤩🗣️ The evening was filled with thought-provoking insights and meaningful dialogue from our incredible panelists and engaged audience members. Together, we explored ways to break the cycle of GBV through mentorship, education, and advocacy—reshaping societal norms and working toward a future free from violence. Ending GBV requires all of us to take a stand—every single day, not just during these 16 Days of Activism. Together, we can challenge toxic norms, drive change, and champion equality. #16DaysOfActivism #JusticeDeskAfrica #EndGBV #FacesOverFacts Callas Foundation The Character Company Danilo Acquisto
