We are so excited to share that we have raised a total of R163 124 during this #GiftOfEducation campaign, exceeding our goal with almost R64 000! This was only possible thanks to the donations given by our supporters! We have grown from an idea to a thriving community with a beautiful natural space where our students, tenants and visitors get to experience first hand the principles we stand for. Starting in January 2025, The Sustainability Institute Institute in partnership with Zimi Charge and P4G Partnerships is offering an extraordinary 10-month paid learnership that will position you and your skills within South Africa’s growing electric vehicle industry. This opportunity is for youth aged between 18 - 35 from disadvantaged communities in and around Stellenbosch, that have completed matric and have a keen interest in green technology and innovation. Applications need to be submitted by 3 January 2025! Limited spots available.

This year we are celebrating our 25th anniversary, and with this we step into the next chapter for the SI. It has been a year of reflection and reimagining what the SI as a space offers into the lives of everyone that spends time here, be it a few hours or many years. The gift of education is one of the ways to break intergenerational cycles of poverty, which is our dream for the Lynedoch Valley. Food and nutrition insecurity during childhood remains a persistent threat to human development, casting a long shadow over a child’s life trajectory and contributing to intergenerational cycles of poverty, malnutrition and poor health. The Sustainability Institute in Lynedoch is actively tackling childhood malnutrition in the valley because a hungry child cannot focus on learning. That’s why our Children’s Feeding Programme is so vital to the educational support we offer.
