[Watch] Transnet’s Cape Corridor successfully completed its 10-day maintenance on the Export Manganese line from Hotazel to Gqeberha. Transnet Freight Rail Chief Executive Russell Baatjies hosted his last employee staff broadcast for 2024 at Kilner Park, Pretoria. The session was part of the ongoing employee engagement, which is a key driver for the recovery plan. During the session, he also discussed with the employees the current developments and the business plans for the next financial year. [Media Statement] Transnet has noted with concern the United National Transport Union’s (UNTU’s) statement issued on 15 November 2024 on social media regarding critical equipment that Transnet procured to enhance the efficiency and capacity of its Cape Town Container Terminal operations. Once more, the UNTU statement, like the others issued before, contains inaccuracies that we hereby wish to correct. It needs to be placed on record that Transnet management has formally addressed this concerning trend of issuing media statements that contain inaccuracies, slanderous allegations, and reckless accusations at a whim.
