Transnet Port Terminals (TPT), in partnership with one of its customers, Kumba Iron Ore, led a silent march against gender-based violence (GBV) in Saldanha to create awareness and in support of the victims. The march is one of TPT’s initiatives that have been rolled out during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, which runs from 25 November to 10 December annually. Amongst the guest speakers were Saldanha Bay Municipality Deputy Mayor, leaders from TPT and Kumba, community leaders, South African Police Services (SAPS) and representatives of various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) who specialize in GBV. Speakers shared insights on GBV, including effective life coaching techniques, the role of SAPS, and strategies to fight against anti-bullying. A total of about 300 personal care products were donated to four NGO leaders in attendance and will later be handover over to victims and/or survivors of GBV. #EndGBV #16DaysOfActivism
