About us
Ukhanyo Foundation is a Non-Profit Organisation based in Philippi, Cape Town, South Africa. Sandiswa Gwele, the CEO of L & S Shuttle Service, founded Ukhanyo Foundation in 2019 with the intention of creating a future in which township youth in South Africa can pursue their aspirations with courage, strive to improve their lives, and break the cycle of poverty through education. A lack of a matric certificate increases a young person's likelihood of unemployment, drug use, and involvement in low-paying jobs. While acknowledging that matriculation certificate is not an indicator of success, Ukhanyo believes it provides as a foundation for skill development. Earning a matriculation certificate in South Africa provides young people with access to education, employment opportunities, and other career pathways. Many employers see a matric certificate as proof that a candidate has the necessary numeracy and literacy skills to perform certain jobs. We focus on: Academic support Self Development Careers pathways

Boys Only Session – Creating a Safe Space for Growth! As part of our Self-Development pillar, Ukhanyo Foundation held a Boys Only Session, giving our young men a safe space to talk about the challenges they face in their communities, homes, and classrooms. Boys suffer in silence, bottling up struggles they feel they can’t share. This session was all about breaking that cycle, encouraging honest conversations, support, and empowerment. 💬💙 At Ukhanyo Foundation, we believe that growth starts with self-awareness and open discussions. We are proud of these young men for stepping up, speaking out, and supporting each other! 💪 💬 What advice would you give to young boys facing challenges today? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
