Well done Unu Health Last week, I woke up with a pair of very red, very swollen tonsils and off-the-charts throat pain. I needed help asap. First, I tried calling a new GP who had recently been recommended to me, but her number wasn't working and my desperate email to her went unanswered. I then called up my current GP who kindly offered me an appointment....in 8 hours. I wasn’t about to spend the whole day in unmedicated agony, so I decided to give Unu Health’s online direct-to-doctor consultation a try. Within 30 minutes: - I had paid R235 online for the consultation, - Completed a chat with a doctor (including sending a photo of my tonsils), - Received a prescription via email, - And was off to the pharmacy to collect my meds. Honestly, it felt too good to be true. While I'll be the first to admit that virtual consultations may not solve every medical problem, Unu Health really proved its worth to me last week. I'm looking forward to seeing how this innovative company evolves.

  • Accessing healthcare in South Africa can be challenging. With fewer than one doctor per 1,000 people, many individuals face long waiting times and limited access to care—especially for everyday health needs. Timely access to medical care can make a significant difference. Studies reveal that early intervention by a doctor can reduce the severity of conditions by up to 30%. That’s why access to quality primary healthcare is so important. Unu Health makes connecting with a qualified doctor easy and affordable. For just R235, you can access expert medical advice from wherever you are—whether you’re managing a chronic condition, addressing day-to-day health concerns, or simply seeking peace of mind. • Closing Diabetes Month💙 As we wrap up Diabetes Month, it’s a moment to reflect on the importance of awareness, education, and early detection in managing diabetes. The statistics are a stark reminder of the work still to be done—1 in 2 South Africans with type 2 diabetes don’t even know they have it. In South Africa, diabetes is one of the leading causes of death, yet it remains significantly underdiagnosed and poorly managed. Early detection can prevent up to 80% of complications, including heart disease, kidney failure, nerve damage, and even amputations. Understanding the signs—frequent thirst, urination, extreme fatigue, hunger, and unexpected weight loss—is the first step in taking control. The journey doesn’t stop here. Managing your health is a long-term commitment, and having the right resources is crucial. Unu Health and Sweet Life are here to empower you with information and support on the Diabetes Chatbot, available in English and isZulu, we’re with you every step of the way. Take the next step today. Download Unu Health app and take charge of your health: https://lnkd.in/dJjwnTJV #HealthcareThatMakesYouSmile #DiabetesAwareness #BetterHealth #EarlyDetectionSavesLives
