5:44 Minutes worth watching! . Ed Conway from Sky News Explains the causes and sources of skyrocketing growth of the Chinese Car manufacturers and parallel decline of the European Auto Industry. It shows the strength ( and unfairness) of a visionary powerful Chinese industrial policy - so much still to learn for European policy makers. One has to applaud this masterpeace of longterm planning and execution to the detail involving all sources of their nation. Standing still , complaining and protecting ( with Tariffs) will not change the underlying Issue. Europe needs to learn to ‚Act as one‘ , leverage our leading Research competence, agree on Industrial priorities and form a longterm industrial policy to succeed. It’s hard to believe that an impactful solution can be found on national levels - think regional , think European! Thanks for forwarding the Video Christian Claussen , from Volkswagen VMA! 𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝑽𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒅 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔, 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒍𝒈𝒐𝑨𝒕𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 I am writing to you with great pride and excitement, reflecting on my journey with AlgoAtWork and sharing my vision for our 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞. The 11th of March 2024, marked a pivotal moment in my career as I joined AlgoAtWork as a 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿. This role allowed me to collaborate with an impressive network of stakeholders and gave me the unique opportunity to refine my skills in stakeholder management. Through consistently demonstrating leadership and a proven ability to enhance operational efficiency, I was honoured to be entrusted with the role of 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 a few months later. This shift was more than a recognition of my efforts; it was an early showcase of AlgoAtWork's culture of fostering growth and excellence. In my new capacity, I embraced the responsibility of overseeing our organization's operations nationwide and in some parts of the African continent, with determination and enthusiasm. In collaboration with the leadership team led by The CEO, Nkgodiseng Livingstone Mphahlele, we have implemented several strategies to optimize operations and achieve excellence: 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀: Implementing standardized procedures and process enhancements to boost efficiency, supported by comprehensive training for team success. 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Promoting ongoing learning and growth through workshops, continuous education, and peer knowledge sharing. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Enhancing compliance systems to meet industry standards and adhere to best practices. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀: Encouraging alignment through strategic sessions, feedback collection, and open communication. 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Introducing well-being programs, flexible work options, and recognition initiatives to foster engagement and motivation. Looking ahead, my vision is to strengthen AlgoAtWork as a leader in our field by embracing innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. My goal is to position us as the preferred choice for many more partners and stakeholders alike, celebrated for our integrity, exceptional service delivery, and unwavering commitment to values. As I reflect on this journey, I am filled with optimism for what lies ahead. Together, with your trust and partnership, we will build a legacy of excellence and make a meaningful impact in the industry. 𝑇ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑘 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑢𝑒𝑑 𝑠𝑢𝑝𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡. Last year, I was invited by Siphumelele Zondi to his amazingly impactful TV Show on SABC called “Network”. Here is the summary of the conversation and how at AlgoAtWork we have seen things shaping up and the next steps we as citizens, communities together with public and private institutions should take to transform #education in #SouthAfrica for the #FourthIndustrialRevolution and beyond. Key points discussed: 1. 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫: • Government should focus on creating enabling frameworks, policies, and incentives for private and community-driven initiatives. • The private sector, supported by organizations like SETAs, is critical in funding and implementing robotics and coding education in underserved areas. 2. 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: • A shift is happening, with rural areas like Babanango (through CHIETA - The Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority via CHIETA Robotics Club) hosting some of the country’s largest #robotics program. This challenges the traditional urban dominance in access to resources and education. • Rural students are gaining access to #robotics and #coding labs, which could position rural communities as future leaders in #4IR. 3. 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: • Introducing coding and robotics from Grade R helps to instill critical thinking, curiosity, and problem-solving skills early. • Students as young as 12 are already competing globally in #hackathons and industry summits, proving the value of early exposure to technical skills. 4. 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: • Teachers often lack the necessary training but can benefit from self-driven learning resources like #YouTube. • Collaboration between #SETAs, private institutions, and local communities is essential to distribute #skillsdevelopment equitably. 5. 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞: • Investment in grassroots #education can disrupt traditional barriers, ensuring #technology access and #innovation opportunities for all communities. • A cultural shift is needed to view coding and robotics not as supplementary skills but as foundational tools for #globalcompetitiveness.
