Desert elephants eat various plants, including leaves, shoots, bark, flowers, fruit, bulbs, tubers, roots, grass, and sedges. They have distinct seasonal feeding preferences, eating more grass during the rains and concentrating on browsing during the dry season. 🐘 🦁 UNLEASH YOUR WiLD SIDE! 📷 by Peter Lamberti | Lion Mountain Media @lionmountain.media 📹 Video content available for licensing at library@lmmedia.co.za 🎬 www.lionmountain.tv | #lionmountaintv #DesertElephants #WildlifeConservation #NatureDocumentary #WildlifePhotography #AnimalBehavior #WildlifeFilmmaking #NatureVideo #WildlifeFootage #ConservationPhotography #lionmountaintv #footagesales #wildlifedocumentary #ourplanet #stockfootage #naturefootage #wildlifefootagesales #footagelicensing #wildlifecontent #contentlicensing #naturalhistorymedia

🐍 The Southern African rock python (Python natalensis), a colossal python species native to the stunning landscapes of Southern Africa, thriving in savannas and woodlands. First described by Andrew Smith in 1833, this magnificent creature is a true testament to the biodiversity of our natural world. With a length surpassing 5 meters (16 feet), it holds its place as one of the largest snakes on the planet. While sharing a colouration similarity with its northern relative, the Southern African rock python is often described as a "drabber." Notable distinctions include a narrower dark patch below the light stripe on their heads, resembling a stripe rather than a patch in the southern species. 🦁 UNLEASH YOUR WiLD SIDE! 📷 by Peter Lamberti | Lion Mountain Media @lionmountain.media 📹 Video content available for licensing at library@lmmedia.co.za 🎬 www.lionmountain.tv | #lionmountaintv Join us in marvelling at the intricacies of nature's design, where even the subtlest details reveal the uniqueness of each species. #lionmountaintv #footagesales #wildlifedocumentary #ourplanet #stockfootage #naturefootage #wildlifefootagesales #footagelicensing #wildlifecontent #contentlicensing #naturalhistorymedia #WildlifeWonder #NatureExploration #PythonNatalensis #SouthernAfricanWildlife #Biodiversity #NatureFacts #SnakeSpecies

The oceanic whitetip shark! 🦈 This giant, a stocky shark with distinctive white-tipped fins, rules the warm temperate and tropical seas. Named for the elegant white tips on its dorsal, pectoral, and tail fins, these solitary predators are the kings of the open ocean food web. From biting into schools of bony fish to effortlessly swimming through tuna gatherings, these sharks are absolute powerhouses. Found in the Indo-Pacific, the Mediterranean, and warm latitudes across all oceans, they can reach lengths of up to 396 cm (13 ft)! However, it's not all smooth sailing for our oceanic friends. Their population is on the decline due to historical fishing pressure. Caught in large numbers as bycatch or targeted for their fins, skin, and oil, they need our help to ensure their survival. 🦈UNLEASH YOUR WiLD SIDE! www.oceans-alive.org www.lionmountain.tv @OceansAliveConservationTrust @oceansalivetrainingacademy @lionmountain.media Let's spread awareness and work towards a future where these incredible creatures can thrive in our oceans. #lionmountaintv #wildlife #endangeredspecies #marinewildlife #saveouroceans #saveourwildlife #saveourplanet #seasave #conservation #earthcapture #underwater #wildlifeonearth #natgeoyourshot #scubalovers #nature_perfection #OceanicWhitetipShark #SharkConservation #MarineLifeConservation #OceanConservation #WildlifeProtection #UnderwaterWorld #NaturePhotography #SharkAwareness #ConservationEfforts #SaveOurSharks #OceanicWhitetip #ConservationMatters

This Wildlife Thursday, we spotlight the majestic tiger, the largest living cat species and a true marvel of nature. 🐅 The tiger's striking appearance, with black stripes on vibrant orange fur and a distinctive white underside, makes it an icon of the wild. As an apex predator, tigers play a crucial role in maintaining the balance of their ecosystems by preying on ungulates like deer and wild boar. Unfortunately, they face a grim threat due to illegal trade. Tigers are tragically targeted for their bones, which are used to make tiger bone glue, a traditional medicine. The byproducts, including stuffed trophies, skins, claws, and teeth, are sold as highly valued decorations and jewellery. Even more heartbreaking, tiger cubs are sold live or frozen in the illegal trade, with frozen cubs soaked and consumed in wine. 🦁 UNLEASH YOUR WiLD SIDE! 📷 by Tyson Langa | Lion Mountain Media @lionmountain.media 📹 Video content available for licensing at library@lmmedia.co.za 🎬 www.lionmountain.tv | #lionmountaintv On this Wildlife Thursday, let's raise awareness about the plight of these magnificent creatures and work towards their conservation. #WildlifeThursday #SaveTheTigers #ConservationMatters #ProtectOurWildlife #lionmountaintv #footagesales #wildlifedocumentary #ourplanet #stockfootage #naturefootage #wildlifefootagesales #footagelicensing #wildlifecontent #contentlicensing #naturalhistorymedia
