This slurry undergoes screening and rinsing procedures to remove impurities, ensuring that the final product is both clean and safe. Mild oxygen-based cleaners, such as peroxide, are employed to whiten and sanitize the pulp, avoiding the use of harsh chemicals that could contribute to environmental degradation. Once the pulp has been treated, it follows a production process similar to that of virgin paper products. The resulting tissue, though less white, is effective and economical. This recycling process contributes to resource conservation and significantly reduces the energy and water consumption typically associated with traditional paper production methods. The environmental benefits of recycled toilet tissue, such as Coral Soft’s Eco-Friendly product, are substantial. By opting for such products, consumers play a role in reducing deforestation, conserving water, and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
