About

Genius Annotation

“MP5” is the second song on Trippie’s fifth studio album, Trip At Knight.

Named after the Heckler & Koch MP5, a prominent submachine gun in the Call of Duty video game series, the song was originally intended to feature Tyga, however, he was replaced up-and-coming Atlanta rapper SoFaygo, marking the duo’s first collaboration.

The song’s music video, released on August 20, 2021, sees Trippie and SoFaygo slaying hoards of zombies using a range of firearms, similarly to the music video for Trippie’s 2017 track “Dark Knight Dummo”.

The song’s synth-heavy “rage” beat is courtesy of Dutch producer Star Boy, who produced 4 out of the 17 songs on Trip At Knight, including “Matt Hardy 999” featuring Juice WRLD.
