For Promotional Use Only is a YouTube/SoundCloud exclusive project by Andy Mineo, which released Thanksgiving 2024. He described it as a pre-main project album, similar to Work In Progress or Saturday Morning Car-Tunez, this time for Magic & Bird 2.
The reason the album released exclusively on YouTube & SoundCloud according to Andy:
This time, I wanted to make a project where I could be completely free to experiment with new sounds without dealing with the
limitations of clearing samples.
If he released it on music streaming services like Apple Music or Spotify he could risk lawsuits or copyright strikes.
Andy Mineo’s last project, Never Land II, was back in 2021, three years before this album, and his latest feature was on 2AM by Jon Keith. He mostly stayed silent, appearing only in a picture with Lecrae. His website showed a looping video of Arnold Schwarzenegger saying “I’ll be back” in his different movies, and overlayed were the words “ANDY WILL BE BACK”.
On August 10, Andy Mineo appeared at HOLY SMOKE, a 2 day festival by indie tribe. There, he debuted some songs from his upcoming collab album with Wordsplayed, Magic & Bird 2, plus a new song, WIFI. Soon, he started posting instagram reels and eventually released Red Room (Freestyle), beginning the album cycle.
