With the release of their first mini-album, “Perfume,” NCT DOJAEJUNG made an anticipated debut. It is their first mini-album, “Perfume,” comprises a total of six songs dealing with the subject of love, including the title track “Perfume,” which is adequate to match their vibrant vocal appeal and musical sense.
Additionally, NCT DOJAEJUNG debuted the unit on stage at Jamsil Main Stadium during the NCT 127 World Tour last October 2022, and the album is also anticipated to drawing a lot of interest.
Six love songs altogether are included on the album, including the album’s title track “Perfume” is an R&B electro-punk song that combines rhythmic slab guitar, synth pad, and boom bap rhythm sounds around a funky electric bass line. The members' a cappella voices are appealing, and the lyrics encourage listeners to leave their scents just like the song.
While “Dive” mixes lyrics that convey the heart that falls deeply into the lover as if it were drowned in water with lush vocals, “Kiss” is a medium-tempo R&B song with lyrics that compare the heart that cannot escape from the lover to “Kiss.” Another R&B punk type song “Strawberry Sunday,” the ballad “Ordinary,” which expresses an honest heart that cannot be delivered to a loved one, and the song “Can We Go Back,” which logically describes the repercussions of a loved one’s leaving and the song revealed during their concert last October 2022.

What has the artists said about the album?
Doyoung:
The first mini-album ‘Perfume’ contains a total of six songs that tell love stories in various themes, and it is an album that focuses on making the members' vocals stand out. You can look forward to it because the harmony of the three voices are good. [Laughs]
Jungwoo:
Just as the scent of perfume changes from the first scent to the aftertaste, I thought it would be nice to show the process of love from the first meeting to the breakup when composing the tracklist.

Is there a reason why they chose "Perfume" as the main concept of the album?
Jaehyun:
As the title song was decided as ‘Perfume’, the overall theme was also carried out with a perfume concept. Each member has a distinct color, so I thought it would be new and fun to express that through fragrance, but I’m proud that the charms of the members were well expressed, even with the teaser that visualizes the scent and making the scent myself.
Doyoung:
All three aof us really like perfume, so I’m happy to be able to release an album with a perfume theme. Is it fate? [Laughs] Also, I think the plan that each perfume will become their jacket concept is special.
