On Tuesday May 2, 2017, Radiohead announced a special 20th anniversary edition of their iconic album OK Computer. The reissue includes bonus tracks (three previously unreleased) and completely remastered versions of the album tracks.

It was released on June 23, 2017 digitally, as a double CD set, and a triple LP pressed on 180 gram vinyl. The expanded box set includes a triple LP, as well as a C90 cassette mix tape compiled by the band and taken from the OK Computer session archives and demo tapes. The box set also includes hardcover art and lyrics, a notebook filled with Thom Yorke’s handwritten OK Computer-era notes and a sketchbook featuring work from Donwood and Tchock, the pen names of Radiohead’s go-to artistic collaborator Stanley Donwood and Yorke, respectively.

The band explained:

The original analogue tapes are the highest definition version of the record, and nothing will ever beat them. However, in the 20 years since the original release, mastering technology has improved a lot, and with new equipment and techniques we can make a digital version that’s an improvement of the original transfer."
