Norman Quentin Cook, also known by his stage name Fatboy Slim, is an English DJ, musician and record producer/mixer.
He played with a number of punk and rock bands such as The Housemartins and The Mighty Dub Katz before eventually adopting the oxymoronic pseudonym “Fatboy Slim” in 1996. He then significantly changed his style, becoming one of the most popular bedroom DJs and a pioneer of the big beat genre in the ‘90s.
His first major commercial success works under this name was “The Rockafeller Skank” from his studio album You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby, and has since released a number of other hit singles, including the UK #1 “Praise You”. His remix of Cornershop’s “Brimful of Asha” also went to #1 in 1998.
Cook was married to TV and radio presenter Zoe Ball for 27 years, before the pair separated in 2016.
